MAPS, MATERIALS, PAUL KLEE AND ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND....A GREAT START TO THE YEAR!
Posted By Mr Martin
As we move into the second week of the new term, Year 4 is truly up and running. In our Geography lessons we have begun our work on the country of India, the children used maps, atlases and globes to find India and the UK. They wrote in the names of the countries and seas that border India and other surrounding countries.
In Literacy we have been looking at the poems of Christina Rosetti, even performing a few of them in groups to the rest of the class! We have been discussing the paintings of Paul Klee in our art lessons and his work will inspire the pastel picture we will be doing on the story of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland', the story we are currently reading in class.
In science we have begun our work on solids and liquids and soon we will be doing a great number of practical investigations. Our gymnastic work has started by exploring a range of balances, over the coming weeks we will be producing a group routine ready for performance.
All in all it has been a wonderful start to the year and long may it continue.
