We have over 200 children on the school roll. The school is small enough for each child to be known well by everyone, yet large enough to provide a wide range of educational experiences.

The year 5 children had a lovely day at Whipsnade Zoo. The weather was great and all the animals came out to see them.
The Year 1 children had a lovely day visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum. They learnt about some of the paintings on display and then tried to recreate them. Then came the mosaic floors and the children created rubbings of them. Lastly they went into the museums children’s workshop where they worked on booklets.
Year 3 children have been learning to play the cello this year and parents were invited into school to hear them perform. They made a wonderful rich sound and their parents were very appreciative.
Ickleford School Sports Day was a fantastic day, the sun shone but not too brightly to be overly hot. The children all gathered on the playing field and competed well in each of their chosen events, and the parents, carers and friends shouted loudly.
In June, we went to the Isle of Wight; we all had a great time. We visited The Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, then on to the Isle of Wight. There we went to AlumBay, Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House, along with many more exciting activities and excursions.
Year 2 spent the day at Whipsnade Zoo. The weather was kind and all the animals came out to see them. First stop was the Lemur enclosure, and then came the Giraffes, Elephants, Lions and Birds of the World display. We were treated to a spectacular display by the Sealions and got a little wet! Thank you to all the adults who came with us.
The children had a lovely time in the front of the school performing around the school May Pole.
Year 5 went to Caythorpe Court PGL in beautiful rural Lincolnshire, not far from Sherwood Forest and just a few
miles from Grantham. They had an amazing time trying out activites new to them. Three groups split up to take part in Fencing, Abseiling, Zip Wire, Kayaking and High Ropes.
